Friday Fun – Ok, I was actually terrified!

What have we been up to this week?  … about 60 feet! I love roller coasters, don’t mind being up in high places, and like to do some dare-devilish things with no fear, but I have to admit this past week I truly had a moment where I was a bit freaked! This whole week we have been in Wisconsin hanging with Zach’s family.  The first half of the week we were at a family camp at Camp Forest Springs with the whole Gray crew and I had the sweet opportunity to do the high ropes course at camp with one of Zach’s younger brother’s Sam. We had a great time going through the challenges as a team, and then comes the last part – getting down.  The course reaches over 65 feet in the air, and at this point you have already chose to exit the High Ropes Course via swing, but now you’re looking down and not so sure you made the right choice… Let me give you an idea of what we were looking at… You’re practically eye level with the tree tops… everyone on the ground looks like ants (ok, maybe giant ants at least)… the only way down is 25 feet of free fall before the arch catches you and swings you back into the air…. and the only thing preventing you from crashing to the ground in a heap of flesh and bones, is a cable and the harness you have on. Yeah, I was a bit nervous I’d say.  But Sam and I did it and it was a blast!!!  Ah!!! Swinging... Read More

Nashville Scene 20th Anniversary Shoot

Jody and I had the privilege of shooting the 20th anniversary party for the Nashville Scene/NFocus magazines. It was a really fun night filled with fun and frivolity and we met a ton of super cool “who’s who” folks in Nashville! The event was sponsored by some different companies in town that you will see in some of the detail shots and was held at the awesome venue One Eleven. It is really cool that we have been asked to take part in events like this and hope to continue to do more of them in the future! Enjoy the pics! Thanks to Mike, Carla, Megan, Evan, and the rest of the fantabulous Nashville Scene team and sponsors who put on this grrrrrreat and happening ... Read More

Friday Fun – Toilet Training Our Now Named Kitty!

And for this week’s Friday Fun blog post we bring you…. (drum-roll please)… Yes, it’s true.  We are going to be teaching our kitty how to use the toilet!!  It can be done, my friends!  We have ordered CitiKitty’s Cat Toilet Training Kit and are ready to start training our little buddy! If you don’t believe us that this is possible, just check this video out (this is one of MANY on YouTube, so if you’re bored….).  For the faint of heart, feel free to skip to 1:00, and THEN skip to 1:14 for a special trick this cat can do!  Amazing.. Here is our kitty getting excited about using her new Toilet Training Kit! We leave this Saturday to go out of town for a week (no worries, we still will be blogging), so when we get back, the training will begin! We know you all have been anxiously waiting to find out the name of our new kitty!  Due to the overwhelming response, we had it in our minds to name her Pixel and then we found out that when we actually called her, it didn’t work so well.  Then the crazy idea popped in our minds to name her…. (another drum-roll please)… … …Starbucks! Lame?  Maybe. This is why we named her Starbucks: – We (well, Zach more) love Starbucks, and we love our kitty! – We can call her Star for short, which also happens to be the name of the leading lady in The Lost Boys (another um, interesting 80’s movie Zach is a fan of) – She’s black like coffee, but sweet like... Gadget vs. Growl!

So, guys love technology, especially technology that will give us countless hours of meaningless, mind-numbing fun! So, God created the IPhone and I-Pod Touch for our simple minded amusement (we think that it has really “important” things to tell us, but we really just play games on it). Many of us men will do almost anything to get our hands on this bright screened gold, including, but not limited to, begging, pleading, compromising or kicking and screaming on the living room floor (not that I did any of those :). So what was Zach Gray, the mature 30 year old small business owner and operator willing to do to get his hands on a brand new 32 gig I-Pod touch? How about 15 years (depending on lifespan) of constant every day attention to an animal that I am allergic to! Yep, that’s what I did! As Jody and I were in Kansas City, MO this past weekend hanging out with some super cool friends, we headed downtown to spend some time window shopping and hitting a few cool coffee shops. While walking down the main strip we bumped into this rather odd place that many cool (and not so cool) people were flocking to like foaming squirrels. It was this odd white and silver paradise of shiny screens and flashy things and we went inside and to my amazement, we had an absolute ball! It was hypnotic and I felt like I was drinking apple flavored kool aid (pun definitely intended), and I have to admit that I wanted something shiny for myself. After all, just because every item... The wedding programs were done by Designs in Paper (these guys did all the paper for our Tennessee Titan wedding). This tree that Simon & Erin are standing in front of in the next shot (and where they said their vows) is the oldest Oak tree in America! Published! TN Titan Celebrity Wedding in Southern Bride Magazine

First, we had the honor of shooting the wedding of Tennessee Titan Reynaldo  Hill and his lovely bride, Janina (ah, what a sweet couple they are) and now we have the privileged of having our images published in Southern Bride magazine! Their winter wedding at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel in Nashville, TN was absolutely beautiful with pink hues all throughout and they paid special attention to detail.  This wedding was fantastic to shoot and could not have been done without the plenty of vendors who came together to pull it off (for a list of these highly esteemed vendors, see the end of this post). If you would like to view some of their engagement images, follow this link to their Featured Engagement post, and to view a highlight from their wedding day via slideshow click here. The Superb Vendors Who Made The Magic Happen: The bride & groom photos that you see were taken at the hot Las Vegas style nightclub – F– USE when we were granted private access. This wedding was coordinated by Courtney Hammons and her team from A Magical Affair and was held at Opryland Hotel. All of the paper that you see (invitations, menus, programs, seating cards, etc) was custom created by the great Donette & Steve with Designs In Paper. A Nashville Wedding at Cheekwood Botanical Gardens

We are so excited to fully share with you the beautiful spring wedding of Ashley Carol & Eli.  Their wedding took place Cheekwood Botanical Gardens Nashville, TN. Helen Morisette was the coordinator for this wedding and did an amazing job along with Jennifer Byler and her staff of Cheekwood Botanical Gardens capturing Ashley Carol’s vision for the day.  We cannot say enough about this venue and their staff! We love the bright blue ties that were chosen for the groomsmen to wear! Ashley Carol’s bridesmaid bouquets were made up of individual flowers, all of which were in Ashley Carol’s bouquet!  The flowers were provided by Nashville Florist Terry White with The English Garden. And now onto the details of the reception! The floral centerpieces were simply beautiful with the hanging candles and made for a really elegant affair. This mug made us crack up… The band Familiar Faces rocked the house at the wedding reception! Ashley Carol & Eli’s white cake with blue flowers was created by The Sweetest Day. Right before the exit Ashley Carol & Eli found themselves having some fun in Photo Booth Nashville Don’t you just love their get-a-way vehicle?
