This blog has been three weeks in coming.
I (Jody) was honored to have been a part of the Pursuit 31 Christian Women’s photographer’s conference a few weeks back and my life was changed.
It’s so hard to describe everything that happened, and I think you had to be there in order to fully understand and grasp the God-filled life-changing times that were had.
All I know is that if you are a believer and a woman (sorry men :), and you need to get away, rest, and relax, learn and be refreshed, mark your calendars for next year. The dates are October 8-11, 2013. Pre-registration will open for alumni November 15, and for newsletter subscribers on November 19th! Make sure to sign up for the Pursuit 31 newsletter and feel free to join the growing online Pursuit Facebook community!
The retreat was held at Winshape Retreat Center in Rome, Georgia and was an amazing, beautiful, and PEACEful place.
Each speaker had a main session where they shared on faith and also had smaller breakouts. There was free time, massages, bike rides, amazing food, bonfires, photo shoots, fellowship – it was amazing. :) Enjoy the images!
Heaven on earth? Maybe :)
Part of the welcoming committee!!! Karen, myself and Desirea!
We had worship every evening lead by Gabrielle.
The amazing Karen Stott who is Pursuit 31’s fearless leaders
Karen’s second in command, the sweet servant Suzy VanDyke.
Desirea Rodgers kicked off our first morning sharing her heart on the non-profit she started called Love 146, which raises awareness and resources to combat child sex trafficking. So amazing to hear from her heart!
I shared after Desirea. It was so different to share from the heart and on faith instead of business…. I shared very honestly through some trials I was going through and how God was challenging me and stretching and growing my faith. So hard (to go through it AND speak on it! :) God was so good…
and here come the tears… Whew!
The oh-so-precious Katelyn James sharing from her heart one of the evenings. This woman is amazing!
It was such a blessing to have Dawn of Bob & Dawn Davis with us. Her stories, her heart, her encouragement was such a blessing to everyone there.
The one and only Mary Marantz challenged, inspired, and yes, even made us cry… so moving and so special.
Alicia Candelora (No Eye Has Seen Photography) was one of our other speakers sharing her international wedding business savviness!
Angelesea Urban (AKA Angie) from Creative Eye photography, was also a speaker who shared her financial goodness, but I don’t have a shot of her!
We also got to hear from Katie who started Fotolanthrophy with Katie Norris and their mission and goal is for photographers to use their gifting to bless others and to share encouraging and inspiring stories. Her heart is so amazing.
The very last morning we were all SOOOOOOOO blessed to hear from the heart of the amazing Jane Johnson. This woman has a hunger and drive for the Lord that is SO encouraging and expiring, even amidst the trials. So blessed to have a new friend in her.
And what’s a photography retreat without some shooting? Here is Jane leading a family portrait workshop with an adorable family – Alice, Kyu and Lyon who founded the National Association of Professional Child Photographers (NAPCP).
Of course I had to bust out the Expo Disc by Expo Imaging and share a few great IN-CAMERA shooting basics :)
The campus of Winshape was absolutely beautiful and they have bikes you can take out so we went on a bike ride! This is me with Katelyn, and Brittany and Susan from Moetic Films who were documenting the conference!
Bonfire and s’mores!!!!!
The final night there was a soiree where we all got prettied up and had a blast :) Jane kicked the tunes
There were so many more amazing times and moments not displayed here, but I hope you get a little insight into the amazing time we all had. Start saving up for next year and see you there!!!!!
